Sustainable Manufacturing

We carefully monitor our annual manufacturing emissions and the carbon footprint of our product. As we reduce our manufacturing resource usage, annual audits by the British Standards Institute (BSI) help us to reliably track and report our progress. In the last three years, we have reduced both our electricity and water consumption by over 60% each.

Third party institutes have recognized this commitment to our workers, community and environment. Trina Solar has been ranked No. 1 globally for environmental and social performance in the Silicon Valley Toxics Coalition’s (SVTC) 2012 Solar Scorecard. The Solar Scorecard evaluates factors such as extended producer responsibility and takeback, supply chain monitoring, green jobs, chemical-use and product life cycle analysis and disclosure. We are also a member of PV Cycle, to ensure that our products are recycled at the end of their lifetime.
