Founded as a joint project of local Innsbruck doctor Dr A. Schär and Bozen-based entrepreneur Untertrifaller in 1922, the company began to focus on the production on gluten-free foods in 1981 under the leadership of Ulrich Ladurner. This specialization laid the groundwork for becoming Europe’s market leader in gluten-free.
Today, Dr. Schar is on its way to become the leading food specialist for special dietary and nutritional needs in Europe and North America.
