Alquimia S.A. was founded in 1995 by Dr. Sergio Demp, in the district of General Resquín, one of the most disadvantaged regions of Paraguay, dedicated to the gathering and export of medicinal herbs to Argentina.
In 2003, the Company was passed to his sons, Andres and Marcelo, who from the beginning focused on organic farming as a business niche with great potential future, focusing its efforts in non-traditional grains and seeds.
From 2008 started the first Chia crops, quickly becoming a national leader in this activity and enhancing Paraguay as one of the major producers in the region.
